Carbine Training

The carbine course is based on core principles of marksmanship and proficient gun handling. This course is meant for beginners and intermediate shooters alike. We will cover the following subjects in this course:
  • Firearms Safety
  • Gun Etiquette / Range Etiquette
  • Fundamentals of Marksmanship
  • Operation & Maintenance of your carbine
  • Standard Shooting Positions
  • Firearms Presentation
  • Strong and Support Hand Shooting
  • Malfunction Drills
  • Magazine Loading & Unloading
  • Tactical & Speed Reloads
  • Tips for gear selection, (i.e., “mission dictates gear”)
  • Proper Storage

Gear Requirements

  • A.R. Style Carbine
  • Minimum of 2 magazines
  • Rifle Magazine Holster or Chest Rig
  • Magazine pouch
  • Ear Protection (electronic type recommended)
  • Eye Protection
  • 100 rounds of ammo


Our Pistol, Carbine and Shotgun classes are meant for small groups, (i.e., 5 people or less), or one on one instruction. These classes are two – three hours, with instruction and range-time. The dates / times for each of these courses will be set by the  student(s), in consultation with Lead Instructor, Jason Garcia. Midwest Marksmanship offers these courses Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Inquire with Lead Instructor, Jason Garcia, to set your date / time.
